BBYSL Completes Infield Renovations & Closes Complex Until Spring
By:  BBYSL Board
Updated:  10/29/2008 at 2:42 AM
The BBYSL Complex is closed until SPRING 2009!  Please stay-off the fields!  The fields, including the infields and outfields are closed and CANNOT be used until the SPRING of 2009!  We thank each of our players, coaches, and parents for abiding to this closure.  The new renovations to the fields need the remaining fall and winter to settle in and be ready for practice and play come Spring 2009!

According to Mike Lawrence, SportsFields of Illinois has completed the $8,000 renovation of all four BBYSL fields in preparation for 2009 season.  The project was funded from remaining proceeds from local business sign and  team sponsorships, player registration fees, and concession stand profit.

Infield dimensions, base, mound, and homeplate locations were relocated as needed.  The infield radius on each diamond were recut and every effort was made to eliminate the lip between the infield and the outfields.  Duraplay was added as needed to allow more moisture to be absorbed by the infields during rain events.  The infields were groomed and rolled as needed.

Since September 2005 the Board Members of BBYSL have invested approximately $50,000 in field complex improvements alone.  None of this would have been possible without the support of businesses in our community and the parents that support the efforts of BBYSL.  Please make a point to thank our business partners and encourage your friends and neighbors to join one of the leading non-for-profit organizations dedicated to transforming youth sports so that sports can transform our youth.  Join us by volunteering to keep our complex neat and clean for years to come.  Take pride in what you have invested both time and money.
